ECONOMIC ZONES SITE SELECTION IN BUTUAN CITY USING MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING APPROACH AND GIS TECHNIQUES

Abstract. Development of economic zones has been rapid in recent years and considered as one the effective ways promoting regional growth. Butuan City is categorized a highly urbanized city center Caraga which brings huge impact to growth region. Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Approach (MCDMA) using pairwise comparison method Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) Geographic Information System techniques were integrated identify suitable locations for zones. There nine (9) criteria used this study such roads, transport hubs, commercial areas, police station, electric post, water bodies, slope, land use labor force. Suitability map was produced basis analysis. The result analysis shows that City, an area 32.15 sq. km suitable, 365.96 moderately 248.43 low suitable.
